5. #1419 - Daryl Davis

With a lifetime devoted to bringing people together under his belt, it is no surprise that Daryl Davis has featured on a list regarding popularity.

A musician by trade, Davis detailed on his JRE appearance earlier this year how he became involved in deradicalising members of white supremacist groups such as the Klu Klux Klan through the medium of conversation.

Davis is a superb orator, and he leaves Joe speechless on several occasions when talking about his exploits as a black man attempting to engage in civil discourse with some of the most dangerous racists in America.

As well as discussing his experiences with deradicalisation, Davis goes into some of the more obscure elements of the KKK, including their predilection for referring to their leadership structure using terminology that wouldn't sound out of place in a game of Dungeons and Dragons.

This episode is an all-round must watch for anyone interested in hearing the perspective of someone who has lived a truly fascinating life.
