During her reign the Queen has dealt with over three million items of correspondence. If that wasn€™t enough to make you dread the postman coming she has sent over 100,000 telegrams of congratulations to people reaching their one hundredth birthday and another 280,000 lucky subjects heard from her when they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversaries.

The Queen has sent over 45,000 Christmas cards during her reign and every year she gives a Christmas pudding to all her members of staff, continuing a tradition started by King George V. So far over she has dished out over 78,000 Christmas puds. The Monarchy is not afraid of modern communication methods. Way back in 1976 she was the first monarch to send an email and the following year, she launched the royal.gov website.

She joined Facebook in 2010 and has a smartphone and iPod.

I am a 60 year old Englishman living in Thailand. Recently retired after eight years as a teacher, time laid heavily on my shoulders. Even living in paradise, the beach and bars can become too familiar. I decided to try my hand at content writing and, after slow start it is beginning to bear fruit. Admittedly the money involved is small but then again, you can live in Sotheast Asia very cheaply and still enjoy life. I have spent a great deal of my life travelling around the globe having been bitten by wonderlust at an early age.
