10. Dean Thomas's Father Was Actually A Badass Wizard

The Dean Thomas we know from the books is portrayed as being Muggle-born. He was raised by a Muggle single mother, so he was not exposed to the wizarding world prior to his acceptance to Hogwarts. However, the father he never knew was actually a wizard who was killed by Death Eaters after he refused to join them.

J.K. Rowling has expressed that she actually has a lot more information than this on Dean Thomas from a cut storyline from the books. Let's hope one day she'll release it all on Pottermore!

9. Hannah Abbott Went On To Become The Landlady Of The Leaky Cauldron

One of the more prominent Hufflepuffs in Harry's year at Hogwarts, Hannah Abbott has always lurked in the background of Mr. Potter's story. So it is only fair that she receive somewhat of a happy ending at the end of the book series.

She goes on to marry Neville Longbottom, a true Gryffindor who has always towed the line between his own house and Hufflepuff, and she replaces Tom as the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron.
