6. The Summoning Charm Was Invented By A Lazy Anti-Muggle Activist
Gideon Flatworthy was the leader of the anti-muggle group, the Accionites, in the 1700s. The group mainly just sat around and did nothing, and the spell was born when Flatworthy ran out of money and merely summoned some goblin-made artifacts to get by. However, the goblins who created these objects found the Accionites' headquarters, and met them at their door with swords and a thirst for blood. After disapparating twice to get away from the goblins, Flatworthy tried to summon a whole entire farm complete with livestock and hay bales. Unfortunately, he was consequentially crushed to death by the farm.
5. Miranda Goshawk Was The Youngest Of Nine Sisters
Miranda Goshawk, the author of the Standard Book Of Spells textbooks, was the youngest of nine sisters, which helped inspire her to write her now-famous book series. Along with being the youngest in a large family, Miranda found that the old textbooks provided at Hogwarts during her time there in the 1930s were very unreliable and outdated. As the youngest of nine girls, she often found it difficult to stand out among the rest. As a result, she invented the Bat-Bogey Hex herself to use against her sisters, and she realized she would benefit from revolutionizing the way students could learn spellwork. Through her research for writing her books, she ended up experimenting on her sisters and even gave her sister Romilda a tail.
