10 Magic Tricks That Went Disastrously Wrong Live

9. Flaming Arrow Misses Its Target

Arguably the best thing about watching shows like Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent are the moments when a performance goes wrong - if not for the laugh-factor, then for a break from all the mundane singing, dancing, and stock magic tricks these programmes are full of.

America's Got Talent certainly took a break from the mundane back in 2016, when a fiery magic trick - taped in front of a studio audience - took a turn for the worse.

Adrenaline junkie Ryan Stock seemed confident and completely sure of himself as he slid a long, golden stick - with a bullseye on top - down his throat. The idea was that he'd stand in place while his assistant fired a flaming arrow at the bullseye lodged in his mouth, but unfortunately, the arrow didn't find its target.

Instead, it struck Stock in the neck, and the stuntman can be seen frantically brushing the flames away from his skin. The arrow was reportedly blunt, but Stock appears to be in pain for a few seconds, and is incredibly lucky that his clothes didn't catch fire.

But on the plus side, this accident probably snapped Simon Cowell out of his consistently po-faced demeanour.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
