6. Victor Salva - Sexually Abused 12 Year Old Lead Actor

Most people are familiar with Roman Polanski and Woody Allen's odd behaviour. Allen married the daughter of his then-wife - a girl he'd raised since childhood; Polanski is accused of sexually assaulting a 13 year old during a photo shoot. And although they've been forgiven by the film industry and the movie going public, that might just be because of their immeasurable talent. No one has forgotten their actions - rather we block them out and attempt to appreciate their films as separate entities. Victor Salva's story is similar, but far less familiar. A Hollywood director, sexually abusing a child - only this time it was during the shoot of his film Clownhouse and the boy he was abusing was the lead star, Nathan Forrest Winters. He was arrested and spent several years in prison. Salva then went on to direct the better known Jeepers Creepers films around ten years later. What's more, one of his first films back in Hollywood after his prison release was a Disney-backed picture named Powder. You know Disney - that big American company that specialises in movies for kids? Yeah, you've probably heard of it. Our best guess why this is forgotten?
