10 Mobile Phone Features People Never Really Needed

5. Battery Life

People do not want bigger batteries, they want better battery life. Although this critical component is the heart of every smartphone, its development has not followed the Moore€™s law. The way modern smartphones are designed huge batteries rarely translate into better battery life. Smartphones€™ appetite for power is bigger than ever and the trend continues to rise. Mobile phone producers seem to consistently make sure that, no matter how big your battery is, your smartphone screen is big enough to kill the device in a single day. While Motorola Moto X Play currently sports the biggest battery you can get on the market (3630 mAh), numerous reviews confirm the phone, due to its enormous screen, still barely makes it through two full days of regular use. And even if it might, it would be irresponsible not to charge it overnight, just in case. Why don€™t producers finally focus on making €˜mobile€™ rather than €˜smart€™ devices? How are better screens increasingly more important than better battery life in mobile phones?
