7. Prison Observation Experience

Being in prison would be bad enough, but imagine being in a freezing cold jail cell without a bed or toilet for an entire week. One Reddit jailbird shared their charming experiences from 2007 and said they were so embarrassed by the arrest that they'd punched a wall in their regular cell. When they were then deemed mentally unstable/possibly suicidal, this person was moved to 'observation'.

That's an even fancier way of saying solitary confinement. Huddling in the corner to conserve body heat, they were stripped completely naked and couldn't even put the lights out for seven full days. All the while, some kindly prison guards were asked to constantly monitor what they were doing. Wow.

Said inmate even spent New Year's Day inside this bare-bones lockup, and it disturbed them so much that they try to flee the country at that time every year. They weren't even allowed to wash for the week, so all he/she could do was sleep or sing quietly to keep his/her brain active.
