10 Most Anticipated Tech Releases Still To Come In 2015
8. Google Glass 2
Many of us thought that Google's weird wearable had died forever, doomed to reside only in supergeeks' basements or on Nick Clegg's gormless face. But now Google has revealed that it's working on a sequel, and there's a small chance we may yet see Google Glass 2 in 2015. Google Glass 2 - dubbed "Enterprise Edition" - is expected to be much cheaper than the $1500 / £1000 original model. In addition, the new model has been called 'subtle, but fancy', which raises our hopes that it won't involve a clunky prism hovering over your eye, and will be something that won't draw too much attention in public. Like its predecessor, the device will rest over your eye, connect to the internet, and give you a constant stream of information from your phone, your favourite news and social channels, and so on. Now, chances are that neither you nor I will buy this thing. There's just too much self-consciousness involved; you'll be paranoid that you've essentially got the words "I'm a Geek. Hit (or rob) me" tattooed around your brow, and other people will be paranoid that you're photographing them, or X-raying them, or whatever else you'll be able to do with Google Glass 2. But there is still something intriguing and distinctly sci-fi about Google's gadget that just refuses to die.
