Anyone who has spent any significant amount of time on the internet should already be well aware of just how much of a polarising figure American comedian Amy Schumer is. Some see her as a trailblazer for women's comedy, whereas others would have you believe that she is something akin to history's most despicable tyrants.

Much of Schumer's notoriety came from multiple accusations that she had plagiarised other comics on several occasions. So, one of the reason's the reaction to this podcast is so unusually negative is that Joe has always been one of the most vocal voices against plagiarism in the comedy business and fans expected him to take Schumer to task.

After all, Rogan was banned from the famous Comedy Store venue for several years in 2007 after confronting fellow comic Carlos Mencia on-stage over joke theft. This led many fans to feel like the UFC commentator had held Schumer to a different standard and allowed her to avoid owning up to her mistakes.
