10 Most Emotional Joe Rogan Experience Moments

2. Ari Shaffir's Mental Health Issues

The last guest one would generally expect to find on a list of emotional JRE episodes is Ari Shaffir. The American comedian is famous for his brand of offensive shock humour, and predilection for creating controversy that was demonstrated earlier this year when he made a number of divisive comments about the deceased basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

But if the increased spotlight on men's mental health has proved anything in recent years it is that no one is immune to suffering from psychological struggles, comedians included.

Shaffir talks about his struggles with mental health with commendable honesty and offers and frank insight into just how close he felt he was to ending his own life.

The pair also talk about the effect Shaffir's depression had on their group of friends as a whole, with Rogan explaining how fearful he was that might lose his friend, and how he attempted to do anything he could in order to help.

Rogan's demeanour during this exchange is commendable as he explains how he did his best to support Shaffir despite not being able to understand what it feels like to suffer with depression.
