During his early adult years, Albert Fish became increasingly obsessed with sexual torture and cannibalism, at one point torturing a man named Thomas Kedden over the course of two weeks before cutting half of his penis off. He claimed that he had considered killing him and taking him back home for future consumption, but was worried that the hot weather would make him more liable to get caught.

Unfortunately he didn't get caught and his obsession with cannibalism grew to the point where he fed himself and his own children raw meat in an attempt to simulate the sensation.

He was caught after kidnapping a young girl named Grace Budd in 1928 following a visit to her family under the pretence of hiring 18-year old Edward Budd. Despite being arrested for the crime, he was initially found not guilty and it was not until a sickening letter detailing the suffering that Grace had been put through arrived at the door of the Budd family in 1934 that his guilt was reconsidered.

When he was arrested again a number of his other crimes came to light, including the murder and cannibalisation of 8-year old Francis McDonnell and 4-year old Billy Gaffney.

Fish confessed to his crimes and was executed in January of 1936 in the electric chair.
