A young boy can be seen at one of the many demonstrations held to represent the freedom of speech and to remember those who died during the attacks on the Charlie Hebdo headquarters. The weekly French satirical magazine features cartoons, reports and jokes from a left-wing viewpoint.
The magazine was the target of two terrorist attacks, in 2011 and again in 2015. During the attacks this year on January 7th, 12 people were killed after two Islamist gunmen forced their way into the Paris headquarters and opened fire.
The Survivors Issue, which was the next edition due after the massacre, published 5 million copies instead of their normal print-run of 60,000. The proceeds went to the families of those who lost their lives working for the magazine.
