10 Most Unique Sports You Won't Believe Exist

9. Chess Boxing

It's exactly how it sounds. Two opponents compete in an amalgamation of one of the most cutthroat activities in the world and boxing. Every chess boxing bout sanctioned by the world chess boxing organisation starts off with one three-minute round of chess followed by a three-minute round of boxing, rinse and repeat. The sport was originally developed by a conceptual artist but is actually a pretty ingenious idea.

In a way chess boxing is more difficult than either chess or boxing as you can lose by points, knockout, running out of time on your chess clock, or checkmate. Having to keep composure and sportsmanship, developing tactics in chess, while occasionally being punched in the head is a daunting task and these fine egghead pugilists should be commended.
