10 Problems Only People From London Ontario Will Understand

8. We Have To Go To Michigan To Save Money On Goods

This one applies for most Canadians because we always have to pay more for the same products that our American neighbors get. It's not just exclusive to London. Let's say there are $130 Nike shoes in the US that are carried by the same store in Canada. It's not going to cost $130, though. It will be $180. It's not just because of the difference in our dollar compared to America because when our dollar was almost the same a few years ago this same problem existed. If you look at the dollar now, we are about 80 cents compared to one US dollar, so it's definitely worth it to head to the US to buy something. There's a city called Port Huron, Michigan that is about an hour away depending on how fast you want to get there. A lot of people from here head across the border to buy stuff because they know they can get it cheaper and it's not too far away. Detroit is about two hours away, so that's why Port Huron is the place to go for a lot of people. If you're wondering, we do have a lot of American stores here although Target closed up shop in Canada because they didn't do well.
