Right, so you book an appointment with the only vet your dog doesn't seem to want to eat, arrange for yourself and possibly your friends/family to be off work the whole day (this can be more than a one-man job), arrange a time which you think will have the fewest number of dogs in the waiting room, purchase several treats as a reward for when you get home, buy some dog calming tablets for beforehand, and make sure you're in and out of there as quickly as possible. Yes, for extremely nervous and/or aggressive dogs, trips to the vets can require the same level of planning as a military extraction operation.
