2. Your Social Life Suffers - A Lot

Dogs will always affect your social life in one form or another, but there's plenty of friends/family/professional dog sitters that can step in and help. That's assuming, of course, you haven't got the kind of pet who only likes you and about two other people. If you want to go out for a few hours and the very limited pool of friends/family that are able to watch your dog are busy, then you're probably going to be staying in.
