10 Real-World Filming Locations You Really Need To Visit
7. The Cabin From The Evil Dead (Morristown, USA)
Okay, if you're a normal person maybe you don't want to visit a cabin potentially populated by demons, raping trees and deadites, but if you're a horror fan this one definitely makes the list. It came as a surprise to me that the cabin is an actual place, and it's very easily visitable for such a large piece of cinema history. In the film, five Michigan State University students head to the hills of Tennessee for a vacation at an isolated cabin, which is always a bad idea I feel, and obviously they find demons, deadites and a variety of other evil and vengeful creatures there. Unfortunately the real cabin is a lot less creepy and is currently owned by a 94 year old-man who wants to be named only as 'Jack', also owning hundreds of acres of land around the cabin itself. It's not easy to get to but it's apparently a great experience to visit, and you can see remnants of other Evil Dead fans having visited such as props and posters being left around as well as a possible shrine to Bruce Campbell. Sadly the cabin itself is fenced off due to recurrent damage but it's pretty easy to get close to and the fence is wide enough that you can see through and take photos. So, if you're in Tennessee, maybe you'd want to take a look.
