What can be said about this couple that hasn't been already chewed to death by the torturous wheels of celebrity gossip journalism? Certainly Tupac, and many more of Jay-Z's older contemporaries, could have said a lot except many of them are dead now while Jazzy remains. His unexpected marriage to the beautiful Beyoncé made them a super power couple in entertainment overnight. Since then Jay-Z has stepped somewhat out of his roots to become a respected voice amongst his peers. Unlike Kanye West, who informed us he was the voice of our generation, Jay-Z seemed to settle into his influential role with ease. His casual friendship with President Obama certainly helped, but for sure when Jay-Z speaks people listen. A few years back the star couple took a break from hanging out at the White House to kick it in the beautiful city of Havana. Just two Americans taking a nice vacation in the welcoming nation of Cuba.
Wait A Second... If any other citizen of the United States went to Cuba for anything more than an educational visit they would find themselves caught between becoming a permanent resident or prison. Spending American dollars on Cuban goods for entertainment is punishable by treason, a crime the minimum sentence for is five years in prison with a $10,000 fine (maximum being death). President Obama didn't have much to say about his friend's illegal excursion except that the White House did not approve. Pretty lean sentence for a capital offense.
