Bill Gates may be worth a paltry £53billion ($79billion) on Forbes' latest rich list - but that remains enough for him to hold the greatest wealth on the planet right now. Interestingly though, at the height of his wealth Gates was worth (an inflation-adjusted) £102billion ($153billion) due to the huge success of Microsoft, the PC company he co-founded with Paul Allen. Gates' wealth has dwindled significantly, however, due to the huge donations he has made to charitable causes - although obviously he still isn't exactly strapped for cash...
