1. Hippos Mating Rituals Are Crap… Literally
When The Bloodhound Gang sang the lyrics “You and me baby ain’t nothing but mammals, so let’s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel” I don’t think this is quite what they had in mind. When a male hippo wants to impress a female hippo in an attempt to seduce her he waits until she is watching him, then proceeds to poop everywhere.
And just in case this tactic somehow fails lure in a potential mate the male hippo has one more move up his sleeve.
To make sure the female he is trying to attract gets the full seduction experience the male hippo starts spinning his tail to waft that sexy poop smell over in her direction. How could anyone resist?
