10 School Lessons That Would Be Far More Useful Than Algebra

5. How To Care For A Car

A car is one of the most important and expensive items we'll ever own, and not just at the outset - all the time. So learning how to run it properly and fix would have made our lives much easier and much, much cheaper. Not only that, we can imagine that most boys would rather have been learning about cars than writing out more equations, whilst for most girls, it would have been a great opportunity to show them that fixing up cars wasn't just a 'man thing' but a useful skill. A good knowledge of how a car works would've also helped when purchasing that first car too, after all you're unlikely to buy anything new at the start. Most people begin looking at cars parked on the side of the road with cardboard signs in the windows. So knowing how to pick a decent car, that didn't have a billion problems, would've been helpful - and cheaper. Always cheaper.
