10 Secret Disneyland Areas You Probably Didn’t Know About

5. The Dream Suite

The Disneyland Dream Suite is a throwback to Walt’s ‘entertaining’ days when he would invite VIP’s from all over the world to visit his theme park. Walt already had his private apartment over on Main Street, but it was far too small to entertain bigger groups of invitees.

Walt’s answer was to build another hidden suite, this time in New Orleans Square, on a bigger scale to his private apartment specifically to house said VIP guests - the elaborate room was dubbed The Royal Suite at the time. At the time of Walt’s death, many of his ‘side projects’ were set aside and left unfinished or abandoned, as the family could not enjoy them without Mr. Disney around anymore.

In 2007 the project was bought back to life under the project named ‘The Dream Suite’. It was decided to keep the room hidden, and would allow access to randomly selected families that enter the park to stay in the luxurious abode for the night. The finished article included a living area, patio with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, completed with a private balcony overlooking the Rivers of America.

There is no entry fee to the Dream Suite, no reservation lists and no way of getting your name to the front of the list. To spend a night in the priceless Dream Suite you will need sweet lady luck on your side and a little bit of Disney magic.
