When you're meeting someone new and you know that you like them, you'll do your best to make them happy. If he compliments you, tells you jokes and does anything to make you laugh or smile, then you know that he's making an effort. However, he's probably trying too hard that his jokes don't really sound like jokes and they're bound to be pretty cringey, so just politely nod along. He'll also walk you to your car, take you home or offer you his jacket if it's a bit chilly and you accidentally on purpose forgot yours.
