A major key to a successful HHN night is getting your clothing right.

Make sure you dress for warm weather. Even if it's a slightly chillier night (for Orlando anyway) you will want to leave the jacket back in your room. All the queuing and walking can leave you feeling the heat. My HHN companion is known for always being cold and I had to talk them out of wearing a hoodie. By the end of the night they were grateful to have left it behind.

Consider what are your most comfortable shoes. This differs for everyone and while I would advise against flip flops (some guests getting literally scared out of their sandals in the houses) if they are your go to comfy shoe then go for it! As someone who could barely walk from a blister after a night at HHN, I warn you to choose wisely.

Pack your bag as light as as possible, or consider leaving it behind. I take the smallest one I can find, and bring only the essentials that I will need for the evening. For me that's my phone, money, tickets and a selection of plasters (in case my shoe choice goes wrong). I'm a chronic over packer but I try to be ruthless with my HHN bag, if I can get it in the park (i.e. headache tablets, water, snacks etc) then it gets left behind.

Trust me, you'll feel much more free without your big backpack with you and the right shoes on your feet.
