10 Stephen King Stories Begging For Sequels
1. It
It is perhaps one of the most revered of King's novels. While other early works like The Stand and Carrie remain extremely popular, It has terrified readers like no other. It spawned a classic mini-series featuring Tim Curry as the demonic entity Pennywise (sometimes a clown, sometimes your worst nightmare, sometimes... something else). And unlike The Stand, which was followed up on, somewhat, via connections to the Dark Tower series, which features the Man in Black, Randall Flagg, in a prominent role, It was never really been revisited. At least not properly.
This, despite King haven talked about an It sequel in past years, though more recently, he seems to have dropped the idea.
This, despite the phrase "Pennywise Lives" appearing as an Easter Egg in King's novel Dreamcatcher.
And this despite a little return to Derry in King's novel 11/22/63, in which Richie and Bev appear (King also linked It to the world of The Dark Tower, and the creature Dandelo was stated by King to be of the same species as Pennywise).
Maybe that's all the follow-up (even though it takes place prior to the end of It) that fans will get. However, it feels like there's still a story left there to tell. A horrific one.
