10 Stephen King Stories Begging For Sequels
2. 'Salem's Lot
King's Dracula, if you will, a sequel to 'Salem's Lot was hoped for for years, and King himself seemed open to one. However, eventually what was to be that sequel became part of The Dark Tower series. And while that was a nice glimpse of the 'Salem's Lot world, it was mostly an extended Easter Egg in one of the lesser novels of the series, Wolves of the Calla (and followed up on in the later books in the series).
No, 'Salem's Lot deserves a proper sequel, of that there is no question. Will fans ever get it? Probably, unfortunately, not, as King seems done with the property. After the release of the final Dark Tower novels, he mentioned that a sequel was no longer necessary, despite it being his favourite novel among his own works.
That said, it's Father Callahan who is revisited in The Dark Tower, which leaves the other surviving characters, Ben and Mark, with a story still to tell.
