10 Strange Things You Never Knew About Christmas

1. NASA Astronauts Played The Christmas Prank We're Desperate To!

NASA Prank In 1965, after successfully completing a mission to see if two orbiting spacecrafts could rendezvous, astronauts Walter M. "Wally" Schirra Jr. and Thomas P. Stafford were about to take a victory nap when they frantically reported seeing an unidentified object orbiting the earth and threatening entry into the atmosphere.
"We have an object, looks like a satellite going from north to south, probably in polar orbit.... Looks like he might be going to re-enter soon.... I see a command module and eight smaller modules in front. The pilot of the command module is wearing a red suit."
Naturally a sober bunch down at mission control they didn€™t pick up on the final comment about the red suit. Not until, that is, Schirra and Stafford were full swing into a rendition of Jingle Bells, accompanied by harmonica and bells they€™d snuck on board prior to launch. Thus making Jingle Bells the first song ever to be played in space and the two playful astronauts the most festive scientists ever. Are there any other odd Christmas traditions we missed? A. J. S. Scott was created as a homunculus by a mad English Alchemist who was trying to make rum from ink and seawater. He is still a fan of both and he has no comment on what happened to all the ‘No Exit’ signs in Islington Underground Station when he visited for Beltaine. You can send him missives by bribing the Right Raven with sour-strings, or: Instagram: @ajsscott Tumblr: andrew-scott-things.tumblr.com
