10 Strange Unsolved Mysteries

1. Was The Disappearance Of Tara Calico An Abduction And Murder?

On 20 September 1988, nineteen-year old Tara Calico left her home in Belen, New Mexico, at 9:30 a.m. to go on a 54-kilometer bike ride and disappeared. She was seen riding her bike with a suspicious vehicle tailing her. Tara and her bicycle have never been found, even though there were several sightings of her in the Southern United States from 1988 to 1989. To add to the creepiness of this story, a photograph was discovered in Port St. Joe, Florida in 1989 that showed a young woman and boy, bound and gagged with electrical tape. It was speculated that it was Tara and the boy was Michael Henley, a nine-year-old boy who disappeared in the Zuni Mountains while hunting with his father. Scotland Yard was convinced that the girl was Tara, however the FBI and the Los Alamos National Laboratory disagree. The theory lost some validity when Michael€™s remains were discovered in 1990 in the Zunis. He had died of exposure. Valencia County€™s retired sheriff, Rene Rivera, has claimed that Tara was murdered and he knows who committed the crime. He has stated that a pair of teenage boys in a truck accidentally hit Tara while bicycling, then panicked and killed her. However, he never pursued the case because of a lack of a corpse. No other leads have developed. There we have it. Are there any strange and disturbing tales that just don't have an answer yet?
