1. Buy Human Meat Online

This week saw a bit of controversy regarding a promotion by the producers of The Walking Dead and chef James Thomlinson, as burgers designed to taste like human flesh were handed out in London. The Walking Dead stunt was open about only using a mix of animal meats to get the unique flavour, but a site from a few years ago named ManBeef claimed to be selling the real deal. ManBeef claimed on their site that they were the world€™s leading distributor of human meat, leading to an internet frenzy. It was widely reported on, and the ManBeef site was gaining millions of hits every week. Despite openly claiming to be selling human flesh for consumption, there were many people debating as to the authenticity of ManBeef. You might think the ridiculous company name would have clued people in, but there were a few weeks of uncertainty before it was revealed to be an elaborate hoax. Funnily enough, the ManBeef site is now a pornography site, demonstrating the brilliant versatility of the name. Have you fallen for any elaborate internet hoaxes? Are there any we missed out?
