10 Technology 'Advances' That Actually Made Life More Annoying

5. Social Networks

In today's society we are constantly bombarded with news feeds of all our friends thoughts, people liking what we are doing and seeing pictures of food with some fancy filter on it. Social Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter amongst many others have turned us all into information addicts; we can't get enough of what all our friends are up to and we constantly glare at our phone screens waiting for someone to message us back. How did we live without all of this? Well at some time before the invention of Facebook (in 2004), we all seemed to communicate just fine. Fewer and fewer people call each other anymore, instead relying on a Tweet or a Facebook message to do the same job. It's shocking how much we now rely on these Social Networks considering they are barely 10 years old. Some people are getting to a point where being part of these Social Networks is annoying, as your phone is buzzing every other minute alerting you to a piece of trivial information you loathe to read. Would it not be easier to go back to a system of calls and texts? Would that not bring people closer together?
