10 Terrible Role Models In Stephen King Books

5. Charles Jacob In Revival

Biggest Crime Committed: Using electricity to communicate with the dead. While we all have a lot of sympathy for Charles when his beautiful wife and child die near the beginning of Revival, by the end of it he's somehow morphed into the stereotypical bad guy. He's manipulative, he's deranged, and he's emotionally unstable. A danger to himself and others, in a nutshell. And christ, this man used to be a church minister in charge of groups of young kids. He's clearly not safe, he's evidently a terribly role model to anyone no matter what the age, and if it were real life, he's be committed immediately. No wonder hesitant hero Jamie grew up to be such a druggy delinquent; with influences like that from a young age, it's surprising he didn't turn out worse.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
