After threatening to kill himself in posts on MySpace, Hughstan Schlicker's father banned him from using the social networking site. In response, Schlicker murdered his father using a 12-gauge shotgun. "I felt like I was stabbed with a knife," claimed Schlicker, with regards to the MySpace ban. "It went straight through and no matter how hard I pulled, I couldnt pull out the knife." Schlicker was planning to then kill himself, but was persuaded by a friend to turn himself in. Schlicker was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
