8. The Watermill Of Sava Savanovic

In the Serbian village of Zarozje, there once stood a watermill that was believed to be home to a vampire named Sava Savanovic. The story of Savanovic is the most famous and widely circulated vampire legend in Serbia.

It is said that Savanovic would hide in the mill and attack anyone who dared to trespass, drinking their blood. The locals soon came to realise that they could live peacefully alongside the vampire as long as they did not trespass on his mill and no attempts to destroy Savanovic were ever made.

Savanovic€™s mill collapsed in 2012 due to the state of disrepair it had fallen into over the years. This prompted the local town council to issue an official public safety announcement warning that the vampire may now be on the loose, searching for a new home€
