6. Dying From A Snake Bite
Your chances of being taken out by a snake are around 1 in 3.5 million, though a lot depends on where you dwell. If you live in suburban Oxford, for example, it's okay to feel safe. And smug. If you happen to call Brazil, rural India or the Australian outback home, however, you can pretty much kiss your ass goodbye. Still, the number of snake-related deaths is falling every year, thanks largely to advances in medical antidotes that reverse the effects of poison, although you should probably still think long and hard before you decide to pitch your tent in Mount Buggery and hope for the best (this place exists, I swear, in the Aussie outback - Google it!).
