8. Dont Go To The Middle Of The Carriage On A Short Journey
Particularly during busy times, the underground can become a bustling hive of activity full of commuters heading to or from work along with the ever present tourists who have misjudged it as a good time to take a ride to Knightsbridge. At these peak travelling times, you could find yourself one of a dozen passengers all cramming through a single door onto the train. If you are making a short journey, do not make the fatal error of allowing yourself to be swept along into the middle of a carriage with those heading further afield or you will find that it is near impossible to escape when your stop arrives. Not only must you ease your way through jutting knees and the bags of those who have managed to find a rare seat, but also squeeze between the less savoury body parts of those standing between you and the doors. As if this horror was not enough, should you make it within a yard of the open platform, you could easily find yourself picked up and swept backwards on the wave of passengers clambering on board who do not spare a thought for you as you vanish below the surface, possibly never to be seen again until the trains termination point.
