10 Things That Have Been Completely Ruined In 2015

9. Respecting Authority Figures

Remember 2014, when we still thought it was worth paying attention to the people in charge? When we still believed a pecking order existed and that our often-times chaotic world contained some semblance of order? When totally mad stuff would happen and you'd be able to think "Well, I'm sure someone has this under control". We grew up trusting our parents and then our teachers and then our elected officials and then law enforcement and...look, no offence to your parents but everyone is useless, apparently. In 2015, we realised that people in positions of power are, across the board, complete garbage. Police in America have killed over 1000 people this year, with 183 killed in California alone. And the stats get even more troubling when you consider that black Americans shot by police are more than twice as likely to be unarmed as white Americans. So say goodbye to any faith you had in the fairness of the criminal justice system (if you ever had any, which I guess is a big if). And over the pond in England...well, it's not like our cops are a laugh riot either but our terrifying incompetence goes straight to the top! Lucky us! You could almost- almost- forgive the current government for their dramatic cuts to welfare and essential services if you believed that there was a master plan behind the whole thing. But thanks to a letter Cameron sent an Oxfordshire council in September, we now know that the PM has almost no concept of what the hell his government is doing. LOL see ya, faith in democracy.
