10 Things That Have Been Completely Ruined In 2015

4. Sitcom Dads

In real life, dads can be kind of a letdown. They're there too much (just in your face, trying to make you work harder or do more chores) or they're not there at all (which is definitely worse). You might have thought your dad was a hero growing up only to have that whole perfect image thing fall apart when he gets really into Angry Birds in retirement. Maybe he loved your brother more than you or bought himself a motorbike in his 40s. Just regular bad-Dad stuff. But we could always count on network television to provide us with the ideal fathers that we so painfully lacked. Sitcoms have long been the home of the cheerfully inept but deeply loving dad character. From the Mike Bradys to the Phil Dunphys and all the way over to the grizzly Marty Crane, these men provided for their families while still making sure to get up to hijinks, because if you refuse to partake in hijinks you'll be kicked off the show. We thought Sitcom Dads would be forever. Unfortunately, one of the most iconic of the Sitcom Dads, Dr Cliff Huxtable, had to go and ruin it for the rest of them. Bill Cosby became famous playing Huxtable on The Cosby Show and he seems to have then used that fame to become an absolute monster. To date, at least 57 women have come forward to accuse Cosby of either sexual assault or sexual misconduct, most of them 2015. The public has struggled to come to terms with it (though I'd wager not nearly as much as the victims). Who can we trust, if not our Sitcom Dads?
