10 Things We Want To See From Joe Rogan Experience On Spotify

4. Avoid Having Too Many Intrusive Adverts

Advertising is the lifeblood of many podcasts.

Being able to offer the exposure of a large listener base to potential advertisers is a huge part of revenue generation for many budding shows. After all, long-time JRE fans will remember when every episode of the show included an opening salvo dedicated to discussing the many benefits and features of Joe's favourite male masturbatory aid.

Currently, Joe still includes a prerecorded segment discussing the JRE's current sponsors at the start of the audio-only form of the podcast, but this is absent from the video version. Instead, YouTube places advertisements at intervals throughout the show.

I think I speak for most people when I say that I would rather sit through an unskippable selection of advertisements at the start of the show, rather than having the flow of a good episode constantly interrupted by a series of intrusive ads.

With Joe's historic move presumably providing him more autonomy with regards to the production of his content, one can only hope that he opts for a system where ads don't detract from the flow of the episode too much.
