10 Things You Won’t Believe Were Sold On eBay

4. Imaginary Friend

Spending money on an imaginary friend is truly, unimaginable, and spending over $3000 just takes the invisible biscuit. For some complete nutjobs out there, it's as customary as adding a nice sweater to the basket on eBay. The photo above isn't just a wall. This is a self portrait of Jon Malipieman, the imaginary friend of eBay's "thewildandcrazyoli", a 27-year-old dude from the UK who felt he had grown out of him. How kind of him to sell him off to the World Wide Weird, for other crazies to enjoy his company. As you can see from the photo, Jon Malipieman is very much, imaginary. There's no small print, no trickery here. In the official description of the product the seller made the following statement: "My imaginary friend Jon Malipieman is getting too old for me now. I am now 27 and I feel I am growing out of him. He is very friendly. Along with him, I will send you what he likes and dislikes along with his favorite things to do and his personal self portrait." The seller, from Newport, received a bunch of questions which he answered in a hilariously serious manner. One potential buyer asked 'Does he mind smokers?' to which he replied, 'No he does not mind them. But he does not like people smoking right next to him that much. He likes bonfire smoke though.' The question on everyone's lips of course - 'Is he single?' To which the response was: 'Yes he is single at the moment. He used to be a bit of a player (well, a lot of one) but he has out grown that phase and is looking to settle down in a nice relationship.' Incredibly, Jon Malipieman received 31 bids in total, and was posted in an envelope to the winning bidder, no doubt packaged in a thick wad of thought-bubble wrap. The whereabouts of Mr Malipieman are currently unknown.
