7. His "How To" Series Came From Losing His Voice
Goofy appeared in a number of shorts where he learnt how to do different things, in what was known as the "How To" series. He learnt how to swim, play golf and even how to play baseball, thanks to the help of a narrator who guided him through it.
The series came about due to actor Pinto Colvig leaving the Walt Disney Company for a period of time in the 1940's, leaving Goofy without a voice. With the "How To" series using a narrator, there was little need for Goofy to speak.
Colvig later returned to the company and Goofy was once again reunited with his voice.
