10 Things You Didn't Know About Space Mountain

7. There Are Two Tracks And 30 Rocket Ships

At the Walt Disney World version of the Space Mountain attraction there are 30 different rocket ships for you to ride in.

Each of these are numbered, but you won't find a 13.

Each rocket ship is designed so riders sit one behind the other rather than riding side by side. The reason for this was to give the illusion that once the ride begins you are completely alone in space. Terrifying!

Guests can also choose if they want to ride either the Alpha track or the Omega track. The ride layout is practically the same except Alpha is 10 feet longer as the track needs to pass each other.

So for a tiny bit longer ride you might choose to ride Alpha.
