8. It's Pretty Slow

Many think of Space Mountain as a thrill ride but you aren't actually travelling very fast.

The top speed that the ride can travel at is 28mph, making it slower than Big Thunder Mountain and only 3mph faster than Barnstormer or your typical weekend driver.

As the ride takes place almost completely in the dark and you have no idea in which direction you are heading, riders feel like they are going much faster than they truly are. That's Disney magic!
