Mk Tunel Anos 70

Although you might feel you are at ground level as you walk through the Magic Kingdom, it turns out you are actually one story up.

Underneath the Magic Kingdom is a series of tunnels for Cast Members to navigate around the different areas of the park called Utilidors. Due to the water table in Florida being so high the Utilidors were built at ground level with Magic Kingdom above.

The high water table is also the reason why there is only one drop on the east coast version of Pirates of the Caribbean compared to Disneyland's two. High water levels prevented Imagineers from going down another level.
