4. He Initially Turned Down Guardians Of The Galaxy
Pratt had auditioned for the mega roles of Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek and the lead role of Jake Sully in James Cameron's Avatar, though he was turned down for both of the roles, with the latter particularly affecting his mindset. He told Entertainment Weekly: "They said they want somebody that has that thing, that It factor'. I walked into that room knowing that I did not have that thing, and I walked out thinking I would never have that thing, probably. So I figured, Ill find a way to make money and if that means Im playing character roles, thats terrific. People have to work. I just dont want it to be at a f***ing restaurant. Pratt passed on the lead role for Guardians to avoid "another Captain Kirk or Avatar moment" though after a successful performance in Zero Dark Thirty, he bounced back, accepted to read the script and wowed the producers who has already passed on 12 actors for the role.
