7. She Revealed Harry And Dudley Reconcile Their Differences
There's a subtle shift in their relationship after Harry saves Dudley Dursley from the Dementors. After that he becomes less cruel than Vernon and Petunia, and even leaves a cup of tea outside Harry's room in a rather awkward expression of gratitude. Nevertheless the two never overtly reconcile their differences. When things with Voldemort get serious, the Dursleys are ushered into hiding under the protection of the Order of the Phoenix and not really heard about again. Many fans wondered whether or not Dudley might wind up having his own witch or wizard son or daughter, but Rowling debunked the idea by saying that any latent wizarding genes would never survive contact with Uncle Vernon's DNA. She did reveal, however, that Harry and Dudley do reconcile their differences, to the point that they occasionally visit each other in order to let their kids play together (though they apparently sit in utter silence).
