Polos are peppermint flavoured sweets with holes in the middle - or at least that's what they are in their original format. Rowntree's has experimented down the years, however, with types including fruit, polo gummies - and Citrus Sharp. The "sharp" was always necessary with this variety which has been discontinued in the UK, because it was certainly something you would consume to wake you up on a morning. Alas, those lemon and lime flavoured smack-you-in-the-mouth treats are no more.
