Despite his notoriety, Danny Lloyd decided that acting wasn't actually for him and quit the profession around age 8 after starring in The Shining two years earlier and another TV short two years later.
Directors of the film protected the innocence of Lloyd by shooting the whole thing without letting the young actor know that he was starring in a horror film. Clearly it paid off because years later instead of being traumatised, hes working normal shifts as a biology professor at a community college.
