Matt Stone and Trey Parker have always been musical theatre fanatics - not only have they had episodes of South Park dedicated to musicals, but this was neither the first nor last musical from these comedy masterminds. Their brand of comedy has created plenty of controversy over the years - with its varied subject matter ranging from religion and politics to celebrities and farting - so when Stone and Parker were given the opportunity to spread their creativity to a feature length film, they made sure that they left no member of the audience unoffended. So, what sort of mature chaos can one expect from a South Park film named after a thinly veiled penis joke? Saddam Hussein having sex with Satan, a child on a quest to find the clitoris, racial slurs against Canadians, Conan O Brien committing suicide and an insane amount of swearing and violence. In between the regular scenes you would expect from South Park is the soundtrack, full of songs such as Hell Isnt Good, What Would Brian Boitano Do, Kyles Mums a Bitch and the Academy Award=nominated Blame Canada. Despite the films many awards and accolades, its greatest accomplishment is its Guinness World Record for Most Swearing in an Animated Film, containing 399 expletives as well as 199 offensive gestures and 221 violent acts. Not a huge surprise considering its a film concerned with the dangers of censorship. While South Park is not suitable for children at all Stone and Parker have admitted this on several occasions this musical film is perfect for the big kid inside of everybody. The songs are silly, the humour is offensive and the animation is crude, but this is undoubtedly one of the funniest musicals ever made.
