Hey, if a cup of coffee can drag you out of bed and get you to work on time, it sure as hell can get you through 20 minutes on the rowing machine.

As anyone who has ever knocked back one too many espressos will know, caffeine increases your heart rate. this will boost the oxygen whizzing around your body, boosting your energy levels and giving you better strength, endurance and focus.

It has also been shown that caffeine might help to improve pain tolerance, meaning that you can push that strength training that little bit further without feeling like you're gonna die.

Apart from anything else, a good cup of coffee can make the world seem like a brighter, happier place, making you less likely to sack off the gym in favour of crawling under the blankets and watching Netflix.
